Battle Of Tel Al-kebir

The Battle of Tel al-Kebir occurred on September 13, 1882 in the Suez Canal Zone of Egypt. The forces of Colonel Ahmed Urabi were defeated by a landed British expeditionary force. The British sought to restore the authority of the Khedive Tawfiq, but ended up staying in Egypt until 1956.
