Battle Of Aong

The Battle of Aong took place during the Indian Mutiny of 1857-1858. On July 15 1857, British forces under the command of General Sir Henry Havelock were advancing on the town of Cawnpore, where they were opposed by a force of Indian mutineers. The rebels were defeated and driven from their entrenchments.
