Barney Larrick
Benson “Barney” Larrick
was a 20-year veteran of
National City Lines
who later went on to hold an important office at
Twin City Rapid Transit
(TCRT). He was convicted in
1960
of illegally taking personal profit as the TCRT
streetcar
lines were dismantled and the assets sold for scrap in the early
1950s
. He was interviewed for the
1996
documentary
film
Taken for a Ride
, which examined some of the causes leading to the disappearance of streetcars from
American
cities in the mid-
20th century
. The film has been shown on the
PBS
series
P.O.V.
