Bangor-on-dee

Bangor-on-Dee or Bangor-is-y-Coed is a village in Maelor in the county-borough of Wrexham in North Wales, United Kingdom. The village is close to the English border. The traditional Welsh name, Bangor-is-y-Coed, literally means 'Bangor (i.e.: a settlement within a wattle fence) below the wood/trees'. However, in English; the anglicised form, which refers to the village's proximity to the River Dee, is more common.
