Balham Tube Station

Balham tube station is a station on London Underground's Northern Line. It is in Travelcard Zone 3 and between Clapham South and Tooting Bec. Regional rail services also run from Balham railway station next door. On October 14, 1940, during World War II, a bomb exploded above the station, with the blast penetrating into the tunnel 9 meters below. The water mains and sewage pipes were broken, causing flooding and the loss of 68 lives.
