Baccarat, Meurthe-et-moselle

Baccarat is a town in France of about 5000 inhabitants. It is a commune in the Meurthe-et-Moselle dpartement in the south of the Lorraine rgion. In 1764, King Louis XV granted permission to the Bishop of Metz to establish a glassworks at Baccarat. The Cristallerie de Baccarat (Baccarat crystal) is world-famous for its glass and crystal artwork, and the Muse du Cristal, owned by the Cristallerie, is Lorraine's biggest private museum. The Church of Saint Rmy also boasts artistic glass windows.
