Avery John

Avery John (born June 18, 1975 in Point Fortin, Trinidad) in is a Trinidadian soccer player, who currently plays defender for the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer. John played college soccer at Yavapai Junior College and American University, graduating in 1999. Upon graduating, John played briefly in the American A-League, with the Steve Nicol-coached Boston Bulldogs, and subsequently followed his cousin Stern John on the New Orleans Riverboat Gamblers. Before joining the Revs, John has spent much of his professional career playing in the Irish Eircom League. He has played for Bohemian F.C., Shelbourne United, and most recently Longford Town, who he was with before joining the Revs. In his first year with the Revs, John started 19 games, playing a total of 1808 minutes. John has appeared in 49 matches with the Trinidad and Tobago national football team.
