- And parting summer's lingering blooms delayed
The poem was about the village Athlone, Ireland, Goldsmith's childhood home. He lived in Lissoy Parsonage, which was also called Auburn. The term auburn is sometimes used to describe a colour. When used about hair, it is most often a reddish brown. Some internet browsers recognize it as a HTML colour name.
