Kammersee) is the largest lake of the Salzkammergut area. It extends for about 20 km from north to south and 4 km from east to west. Its water comes from the Seeache, which flows out of another lake, the Mondsee. The Hllengebirge (literally meaning hell mountains), with a height of up to 1800 m, is located southest of the lake. The Schafberg, another mountain, is immediately to the southwest of the Attersee. At Litzlberg, there is a small island chteau, which Gustav Klimt frequently visited during the summer.
