Atomix

Atomix is the most popular magazine among video game consumers in Latin America. Published monthly, it was created by a group of video game fans in 1996. The original site was named Limit-X and it was the biggest Spanish-language online community covering the video game industry and scene in Mexico. Limit-X was renamed Atomix shortly before the first issue of the magazine was published. The premiere issue was so successful that it nearly sold out. Strangely, that issue featured Final Fantasy 8 on the cover, even though that game had no distribution in Mexico. Atomix was the first publication in Latin America that discussed all game consoles; earlier Latin American gaming magazines (such as Club Nintendo) focused on a single console. Atomix continues to be a large online comunity and has a weekly TV show.
