Atltico Celaya

Atltico Celaya, nicknamed Toros is a Mexican football from Celaya, Guanajuato. Founded on February 7, 1957, they currently play in the Primera Divisin A. They play in blue shirts and blue shorts with white socks. Home stadium is the Estadio Miguel Alemn that seats 29,333 spectators. The team was founded when two second-division clubs, Atletico Cuernavaca (Morelos) and Escuadra Celeste de Celaya (Guanajuato), merged. Another team, Atltico Espaol, was also merged at a later date. The period shortly after promotion in 1995 was notable by the coaching of Juan Manuel Alvarez and the signing of Emilio Butragueo, who gained much popularity captaining the team in its newly-promoted status. Later on, other members of Real Madrid's Quinta del Buitre arrived, but they were not as successful as hoped, being in the latter stages of their respective careers. Honours
  • Won promotion to the Primera Divisin in 1994-95
