Armenian Diaspora

The Armenian Diaspora is a term used to describe the communities of Armenians living outside of Armenia. There are large Armenian communities in the United States, Russia, Europe, Middle East, Australia, and South America, and together they comprise the Armenian Diaspora. The growth of diaspora was significanly influenced by the events at the beginning of the 20th century in Turkey known as Armenian genocide.
