Antonio Margheriti

Antonio Margheriti (September 19, 1930 - November 4, 2002) was a prolific Italian filmmaker. He produced many films under the pseudonym Anthony M. Dawson. He was born in Rome and died from a heart attack, near Rome at the age of 72. Margheriti is known for his Science Fiction, Horror and Action movies. Director of "Cult" movies of the 60's like "Horror Castle", "Spacemen", "Battle of the Worlds", "The Golden Arrow", "Wild, Wild Planet", "the Unnaturals", "Mr. Superinvisible", and other dozens of films. He was the only Italian Director who worked directly for American Majors Productions, like MGM, United Artists, 20th Century Fox, Columbia Pictures, etc. with films like: "Yor, the hunter from the future", "Take a Hard Ride", "Andy Wharol's Frankenstein", "Andy Wharol's Dracula", "Killer Fish", and the four SF movies of the series "Gamma 1" (1964).
