Antisexualism

Antisexualism is a movement against sexual activity of any kind in society. People involved in, and proponents of, the movement may be described as 'antisexual'. Most antisexual people believe that: sex is a kind of addiction resulting in both physical and social effects; disrupts relationships; and causes people to lie and cheat to achieve the pleasure of sexual gratification. Some antisexual people believe sex to be the cause of many of the world's problems. Most antisexual people abstain from masturbating; however some of them accept this form of sexual activity, thus some people may be both antisexual and autosexual. Most antisexuals do not find their antisexuality to be a problem.

Antisexual pride

Antisexualism is a movement where people unite in groups to support each other, discuss and promote antisexualism as a way of life, and fight for tolerance. Some antisexuals claim to have sexual experiences, but the reasons for being antisexual are more cultural than their own asexualism. Some of the arguments for the antisexual position include:
  • sex can complicate relationships
  • sexual desire can cause people to place primitive instinct ahead of intellect
  • sexual desire can cause people to lie and cheat in the pursuit of sexual relationships
  • sex can lead to discrimination, based on perceptions of sexual immorality and intolerance of certain sexual preferences
Some antisexuals even think that sex has divided the society into puritans and those who accept so-called free sex, thereby breeding sexual intolerance. They feel that sexual intolerance causes hypocrisy, prudery and erotophobia. Antisexual people often meet intolerance while discussing their lifestyle with others.
