Anthony Collett

Anthony Collett (August 22, 1877-1929) was an author and writer on natural history subjects and was The Times' nature correspondent during the 1910s and 1920s. He was born at Cromhall, Gloucestershire, educated at Bradfield School and Oriel College, Oxford. In 1917, he was described as "of 5 Stone Buildings, Lincoln's Inn, London, W.C.", which strongly suggests that he was a lawyer, or at any rate involved in the legal profession in some capacity. W. H. Auden used many phrases from Collett's Changing Face of England in his poems.
