• Named for the brightest star (as seen from Earth) in the constellation Scorpius (the Scorpion).

• U.S.S. Hermes - registry number NCC-10376
• The Hermes served in Picard's armada to blockade the Romulan supply ships supplying the Duras family forces during the Klingon civil war of 2367-2368.
