Anna Brandoli

Anna Brandoli is one of the few female Italian comic book artist. She is born in Milan, Italy, in 1945. She made her debut in 1977 in Alter Alter magazine. For that magazine, she draws La Strega (The Witch) with Renato Queirolo, who became her main scenarist. This comic will be translated in many language such as French (Ed. Glnat), Danish (Ed. Carlsen) and Swedish (Ed. Medusa), as Rebecca, from the name of the comic's heroine. Together, they published also two more juvenile albums Colorina and Il Mago di Oz (The Wizard of Oz). In 1981, Anna Brandoli started the I Testamenti di Sant'Ambrogio (Rebecca) series in Linus, pursued in Orient-Express and Comic Art. La Strega and these comics narrate the adventure of a woman in the 17th century Italy. In 1988, she published for Isola Trovata Alias, with her fellow scenarist Renato Queirolo. Back to Comic Art, she started the Cuba 42 series with writer O. De Angelis, modern story on WW2 underground. Anna Brandoli has demonstrated to be a great comics drawer. Her strong black and white style places her among the Italian comics masters such as Hugo Pratt. Brandoli, AnnaBrandoli, AnnaBrandoli, Anna
