Andr Ntagerura

Andr Ntagerura (born 2 June, 1950) is a Rwandan politician. He is chiefly known for his alleged role in the Rwandan Genocide. Born in Rwanda of Hutu ethnicity, Ntagerura pursued formal education in Qubec, Canada. In the book Shake Hands with the Devil, author Romo Dallaire, a Quebecer, observes that "Ntagerura could swear better in Qubcois than I could." Ntagerura held a number of portfolios in the government of Juvnal Habyarimana from 1977 to 1994. During the 1994 genocide, he was the Minister of Transport and Communications and a leading member of the MNRD party which then held power. He is alleged to have coordinated the genocide conducted by Interahamwe militia through his party connections. Ntagerura was detained with Colonel Thoneste Bagosora, in Yaounde, Cameroon, and appeared before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Ntagerura, Andr Ntagerura, Andr
