This article is about the musical group. For other uses, see Amundsen.

Amundsen is a Norwegian alternative rock band. The band formed in 2003, with members from various Norwegian underground groups: Kre Christopher Vestrheim (Rhodes, mellotron, synthesizer, guitar), Hans Jrgen Stp (vocals, guitar), Georg Buljo (guitars), Thomas Thofte (bass), and Tom Rudi Torjussen (drums). All of them has played in many bands before: Everyone except from Torjussen in Locomotives, Vestrheim in Kiruna, Tofte in Kiruna and Everest, and Torjussen in Howlin' Pimp-o-Negros and Wholy Martin. Amundsen released their debut album, "Amundsen", in 2003. They describe their music as "polar-rock" - natural paralels are Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, and Norwegian band Jim Strk.
