American Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, usually referred to by their acronym, ASPCA, is a group dedicated to preventing the abuse of animals. It was founded by Henry Bergh on April 10, 1866. There are many state SPCA's and they take in animals that are stray, abused, or once-owned. The SPCA's are very helpful to get the animals safe instead of having them suffer on the rural streets. The SPCA's feed the animals, take care of them, and socialize with them.
