Amasa M. Lyman

Amasa Mason Lyman (March 301813February 41877) was an early leader in the Latter Day Saint movement. He was briefly an Apostle under Joseph Smith, Jr., filling a place in the Quorum of the Twelve that had been temporarily vacated by Orson Pratt. He resumed his place in the Quorum as led by Brigham Young after Smith's death. Much later, in the Utah Territory, he rejected Young's leadership and became the president of Godbeite church (a short-lived Latter Day Saint denomination).
