Allerton High School

Allerton High School is an 11-19 Comprehensive in Leeds, UK, specializing in Business and Enterprise. The chief executive is Mr Chris Edwards. The head teacher is Mrs P.A. Lewis. As of 2003 there are 1081 students, with an admission limit of 180 for September 2003. Beginning as a kindergarten offshoot of Leeds Girls High School in 1901, in Chapel Allerton, Allerton moved to its present location, a single campus on King Lane, in 1939. In 1972 it went co-ed covering 13-18. Video cameras are installed throughout Allerton High School. The school uses electronic whiteboards in the computer rooms and other rooms. The school has tennis courts, a Multi Faith Centre, and a video conferencing facility. The school is involved in the Excellence in Cities initiative.
