Allan LangerAllan Langer, often nicknamed "The Little Master", is an Australian rugby league player. A product of the town of Ipswich, Queensland, Langer grew up playing football alongside future Brisbane Broncos (and Australia) team mates Kevin and Kerrod Walters. The diminutive Langer played most of his career with the Broncos, including a stint as captain. During a bad start to the 1999 season, Langer announced his retirement from rugby league. Surprising no one, he soon came out of retirement to play for the British club Warrington Wolves. In 2000, Queensland (and Broncos) coach Wayne Bennett made a surprise selection of Langer - still playing in England - for the Queensland side in the third State of Origin match of that year. Langer returned and produced a display of football showing that he was still capable of playing at his best in the Australian competition, generally regarded as superior to the English one. Langer was lured back to the Broncos for one final season, where despite his vintage form the team was unable to win the premiership. Langer, Allan
