Alexis BledelKimberly Alexis Bledel (born September 16, 1981 in Houston, Texas, USA) is an American actress of Argentine and Mexican descent. She is best known for her roles in the television series Gilmore Girls and the motion picture Tuck Everlasting. A native of Houston, Texas, whose native tongue was Spanish, Bledel's Argentine father and Mexican mother encouraged her to try community theater at the age of eight to overcome shyness. The aspiring actress subsequently appeared in local productions of Our Town and The Wizard of Oz before being scouted at a local mall and given work as a model. She studied at the Page Parkes Center for Modeling and Acting was a film major at NYU. In 2002, she was voted one of People magazine's "Hottest Stars Under 25".
