Alexander R. Todd, Baron Todd

Alexander Robertus Todd, Baron Todd (October 2, 1907January 10, 1997) was the 1957 Nobel Laureate in chemistry for his work on nucleotides and nucleotide co-enzymes. Lord Todd born in Glasgow. He was a graduate of Glasgow University (B.Sc., 1928), and received his Ph.D (Dr.Phil.nat.) in 1931 from the University of Frankfurt-on-Maine for his thesis on the chemistry of the bile acids. He was made Sir Alexander in 1954, and Baron Todd of Trumpington in 1962.
