Al Anbar

Al Anbar is a province in the nation of Iraq. Its capital is Ar Ramadi. Anbar is the largest province in Iraq, sharing a border with Syria, Jordan (undefined), and Saudi Arabia. Its name is Persian (انبار Anbr) and means "the ware house". This region was the ware house of the Persian Sassanid troops. The province also contains the city of Fallujah and comprises a large portion of the so-called Sunni triangle. The Iraqi insurgency is widely considered to be stronger in this province than in any other in Iraq.
