Aircraft Operations Center

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration maintains one main aircraft base for its roughly 13-15 aircraft. That base is the Aircraft Operations Center in Tampa, Florida at MacDill Air Force Base. The NOAA Aircraft Operations Center houses multiple light aircraft, helicopters, and three Hurricane Hunter aircraft (Two P-3's and One G-IV SP). This small base plays a large role in every hurricane season by flying constantly into and around hurricanes for research and forecasting. More information on this can be obtained from http://www.aoc.noaa.gov http://www.noaa.gov or http://www.nhc.noaa.gov
