Agape Feast

The Agape Feast was a love feast celebrated in apostolic times on any day, in addition to the Eucharist. It celebrated agape: the love of God. As class distinctions became set in the early church, the Agape Feast began to fall out of favor. Eventually the practice ceased in the church, while communion remained.
