African Herbsman

African Herbsman is a Bob Marley reggae album, released in 1973, shortly after Catch a Fire had first international success. African Herbsman is a collection of many earlier versions of songs, which had appeared later on several albums, i.e. Lively Up Yourself or Sun Is Shining. Other than later Bob Marley albums, the African Herbsman recordings sound more inflexibly (experts would say: "more jamaican authentical"), which for a lot of people is an argument for Marley's best musical period because there are still dub, rocksteady and ska elements.
