Afc Rapid Bucharest

AFC Rapid is a football club of Bucharest, Romania. It was founded in 1923 by a group of workers of the Griviţa workshops under the name of "Cultural and Sportive Association CFR" (in Romanian: Asociaţia culturală şi sportivă C.F.R.). It is the oldest of the three most important football clubs of Bucharest (the other two being FC Steaua and FC Dinamo). The Giuleşti stadium was inaugurated on 8 June 1939. Rapid won three Romanian championships (in 1967, 1999 and 2002) and eleven times the Romanian FA Cup.
