Aerobic Threshold

The aerobic threshold (AeT) is a exercise intensity at which lactate (lactic acid) starts to build in the blood stream. The AeT is defined as a lactate concentration of 2 mmols (at rest it is around 1 mmol). It is approximately 20 BPM less than the anaerobic threshold. See also: Anaerobic threshold, VO2max
