Admiral William Standley State Recreation Area

The Admiral William Standley State Recreation Area is a state recreation area located north of the city of Santa Rosa, California, on the Eel River in Mendocino County. The park features 45 acres (180,000 m²) of redwoods and is a popular spot for salmon and steelhead fishing. The area is also a favorite place for hikers and picnickers. The park is named for Admiral William Standley, a former fleet commander and member of the commission appointed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to investigate the attack on Pearl Harbor.
