Adare

Adare (Irish: th Dara) is a town in County Limerick, Republic of Ireland, located on the River Maigue in the midwest of Ireland. Limerick city is nearby, with the N21 road to Kerry passing through the town. Often termed a "heritage town", the town is very popular with tourists, due to its good image, many attractions, fine accommodation and good marketing. Adare boasts a castle, a priory and an abbey in the town as well as one or two other historic churches. The main street is quite traditionally Irish, with thatched cottages near the entrance to Adare Manor – one of the area's grand hotels, whose past visitors include Bill Clinton. There is also at least one 18 hole golf course on the outskirts of the town. A railway line to Foynes passes through the town, but the railway station has been closed for decades. At one stage services to West Limerick and North Kerry stopped by the town.
