Accompong
is a historical
maroon
village located in the hills of the
Blue Mountains
in
Jamaica
. It is one of the areas where runaway slaves moved after escaping from the British. It still exists today. The inhabitants have practices and a culture similar to their African culture originating 200-300 years ago.
