Abd Al-wahhab Marjan

Abd al-Wahhab Marjan (19101964) served as prime minister of Iraq for three months, (December 15, 1957March 3, 1958) at the time of that country's short-lived union with Jordan, which was formalized on February 14, 1958. A relative newcomer to the Iraqi government, Marjan first joined the cabinet in 1957, and was considered too weak a leader to oversee the unification of the two states. He therefore resigned, less than a month after the federation was declared, in favor of the more established political figure, Nuri as-Said. He survived the republican coup and died in 1964.
