Concept A Grand Don't Come For Free is a concept album. In the story, the protagonist loses a thousand pounds. In the first track on the album, "It Was Supposed To Be So Easy", he loses the money while he is out returning a rental DVD and attempting to get money from an ATM. In the process of trying to recover the money, he finds himself in situations of being high on Ecstacy in a nightclub in "Blinded by the Lights" and posing to impress a girl ("Fit But You Know It") in a chip shop in a holiday resort . The final track, "Empty Cans", features two endings to the plot, a bitter ending and a happy ending with matching music for both.
