A Gift Upon The Shore

A Gift Upon the Shore is a novel by M. K. Wren which trades in some of the familiar post-apocalyptic themes, including, eventually, a fundamentalist cult gone mad. One of its most endearing aspects is its devotion to literature, as one protagonist works tirelessly to protect classic books, even in the face of a zealot's nearly murderous opposition.
