Yulin, Guangxi

Yulin () is one of the fourteen region-level cities (see: Prefecture-level city) of Guangxi autonomous region, in China. It is located in the southeastern part of the region. It has a population of approximately 5.9 million according to the latest census and a total area of 12,838 sq. km.

History

   
Artifacts suggest that the area has been settled before the Qin Dynasty but a commandery by the name of Yulin was not established until early Han Dynasty. The urban centre of Yulin became a zhou in 996.
