Young RepublicansYoung Republicans is the name of an organization for members of the American Republican Party under the age of 40. It has both a national organization and chapters in individual states. The current Chairman of the Young Republican National Federation is Michael Mack. The 2006 Young Republican National Federation (YRNF) convention will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Delegates are expected to elect Nicolee Ambrose of Maryland as the next Chairman of the National Young Republican Federation. It can also be used as a generic term to mean relatively youthful political conservatives, whether or not they belong to the organization. In this usage it often carries the unspoken assumption that younger people are traditionally expected to be comparatively liberal in their politics.
