Wynnewood, OklahomaWynnewood is a city located in Garvin County, Oklahoma. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,367. Geography Wynnewood is located at 34°38'38" North, 97°9'53" West (34.643884, -97.164694). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²). 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. There is also a Wynnewood, PA. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,367 people, 965 households, and 607 families residing in the city. The population density is 601.3/km² (1,552.3/mi²). There are 1,104 housing units at an average density of 280.4/km² (724.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 77.27% White, 10.73% African American, 7.77% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.68% from other races, and 3.38% from two or more races. 2.83% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 965 households out of which 29.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.4% are married couples living together, 15.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.0% are non-families. 33.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.39 and the average family size is 3.05. In the city the population is spread out with 26.0% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 20.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 83.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 74.9 males. The median income for a household in the city is $26,149, and the median income for a family is $31,856. Males have a median income of $28,929 versus $19,375 for females. The per capita income for the city is $13,539. 15.9% of the population and 13.6% of families are below the poverty line.
