Wright Company

The Wright Company or Wright & Co. was the initial aviation business of the Wright Brothers, who had previously run a bicycle shop. They established the company in 1909 to sell aircraft to the US Army Signal Corps. The Wright Brothers concentrated their efforts on protecting their patent rights rather than on improving their aircraft. In 1916, trying to catch up their competitors, they merged their company with the Glenn L. Martin Company to form Wright-Martin.
