Whale Pass, AlaskaWhale Pass is a census-designated place located in Prince of Wales-Outer Ketchikan Census Area, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the population of the CDP is 58. Geography Whale Pass is located at 56°6'45" North, 133°8'31" West (56.112370, -133.141892). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 96.8 km² (37.4 mi²). 92.2 km² (35.6 mi²) of it is land and 4.5 km² (1.8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.68% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 58 people, 22 households, and 13 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 0.6/km² (1.6/mi²). There are 51 housing units at an average density of 0.6/km² (1.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 96.55% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 1.72% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.72% from two or more races. 6.90% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 22 households out of which 36.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.5% are married couples living together, 9.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.9% are non-families. 22.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
