Washtucna, WashingtonWashtucna is a town located in Adams County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 260. History Washtucna was officially incorporated on November 14, 1903. Geography is located at 46°45'12" North, 118°18'46" West (46.753375, -118.312687). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²); all of it land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 260 people, 110 households, and 72 families residing in the town. The population density is 185.9/km² (484.7/mi²). There are 133 housing units at an average density of 95.1/km² (247.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 96.15% White, 1.92% Native American and 1.92% from two or more races. 4.23% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 110 households out of which 32.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% are married couples living together, 11.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.5% are non-families. 32.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.36 and the average family size is 2.96. In the town the population is spread out with 28.5% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 23.8% from 25 to 44, 28.1% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 89.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.8 males. The median income for a household in the town is $34,688, and the median income for a family is $45,000. Males have a median income of $31,964 versus $33,750 for females. The per capita income for the town is $17,487. 20.1% of the population and 16.2% of families are below the poverty line.
