vla

Vla is a typical Dutch dairy product, made of fresh milk. It has the viscosity of yoghurt, but is much sweeter and is available in several tastes:

Traditional vla is made of cooked milk with custard, or with a combination of eggs, maizena and vanilla. And sugar, of course! Vla found in Dutch shops is usually made with other thickeners. Plain vla also tastes good with apple sauce, or as a vlaflip: with yoghurt and some fruit syrup.
