University Of Buckingham

The University of Buckingham is the UK's first and only private university, founded as the University College of Buckingham in 1976, before becoming a university in 1983. Unlike other UK universities, the University operates a two-year undergraduate degree course, consisting of four terms, with the academica year running from January to December. Most of its students are from overseas, particularly Malaysia, Pakistan and Nigeria, as until recently, the charging of tuition fees has discouraged applications from UK students. The University specialises in law, accounting, and business studies, with other departments such as biology having closed, and others, such as economics, politics and history having been merged.
