Uss Midway

Three ships of the United States Navy have been named USS ''Midway'', the first after Midway Atoll, the second and third in memory of the Battle of Midway.
  • The first Midway (AG-41) was the Oritani and then the Tyree before being chartered as a general auxiliary in 1942, renamed to Panay in 1943, and returned to her owner in 1946.
