commissioned in

St. Lo
one week later, and sunk in the
Battle of Leyte Gulf
one year later.
The third
Midway
(CV-41)
was an
aircraft carrier
commissioned just after the end of
World War II
, in service until
1992
, and
as of 2004
a
museum ship
in
San Diego, California
.
