Ufo Conspiracy TheoryThe UFO conspiracy theory is a conspiracy theory in which the major world governments (particularly the United States government) are believed to have proof that UFOs are the result of alien visitation but are suppressing this information for nefarious purposes or out of the belief that humanity collectively is unprepared to deal with the psychological, social, or theological implications of such a reality. It often incorporates the argument that governments are in fact in communication or cooperation with extraterrestrials. Some of these theories claim that the government is explicitly allowing alien abduction in exchange for technology. Statements by John Lear are especially important in popularizing such theories. (Skeptics wonder why aliens with such advanced technology would require governments' permission for such abductions.) The UFO conspiracy theory has been expressed in fiction by the television series The X-Files and the movies Men in Black and Independence Day. Elements of the theory may include the government's Men in Black agents, the military Area 51 hangar, a crash site in Roswell, New Mexico, and a political committee dubbed the "Majestic 12". Example Alien Encounters, a book by Chuck Missler and Mark Eastman, advances a comprehensive theory with the following elements: - UFO sightings and encounters are 'real', but suppressed and obfuscated by mainstream media and governments
- Ancient cultures provide evidence of UFO sightings and alien intervention, notably the Great Pyramid
- Aliens and UFOs are nothing more than a deception perpetrated by demonic forces, to lead people away from God
- Contemporary global society is 'being prepared' for a grand, undeniable UFO/alien encounter
- UFOs are able to defy the laws of physics, because they are extra-dimensional (i.e. supernatural)
- Christians and children will be 'raptured' to heaven, by the hand of God, but mainstream media will explain it with a lie that they were transported by UFOs
- People are regularly abducted for perverse reproductive experiments, as a part of a sinister program to create demon-human hybrids, known as Nephilim
- A powerful and acclaimed global leader (Antichrist) will arise, welcoming our 'benevolent space brothers', and will perform signs and wonders to deceive many, and disguise his true diabolical nature
