U.s. Highway 425

US 425 is an north-south United States highway. Its route number is a "violation" of the usual AASHTO numbering scheme, as it comes nowhere near its implied "parent", US 25.

Termini

As of 2004, the highway's northern terminus is in Pine Bluff, Arkansas at an intersection with US 65. Its southern terminus is in Bastrop, Louisiana at an intersection with US 165.

States Traversed

The highway passes through the following states:

Related US Routes

  • US Highways 400 and 412 are similar violations of the standard numbering scheme.
US 425 is really related to US 65 and US 165. It is hard to understand why this route wasn't instead numbered as "U.S. Highway 265", which would be more consistent with the traditional numbering plan of the US Highway System.
