Treaty of Rome
of
January 27
,
1924
was an agreement by which
Italy
and the
Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes
(the later Yugoslavia) assigned the city of Fiume (now
Rijeka
in
Croatia
) to Italy, and its eastern neighbour
Sušak
to Yugoslavia, with joint port administration, superseding the
1920
Treaty of Rapallo
which had declared Fiume an independent state.
