Treaty Of Bucharest, 1812

Treaty of Bucharest of 1812 was signed on 28 May 1812 by the Ottoman Empire and the Russian Empire, at the end of the Russian-Turkish war (1806-1812). By its terms, Bessarabia (eastern half of Moldavia, now part of the Moldovan Republic) is ceded to the Russian Empire, Prut river becoming its new Eastern border. Also, Russia had the right to use the Danube for trade.
